Lewes pianist Danielle Carr to compete as MTNA division finalist

Danielle Carr, a Lewes native, will compete as a division finalist in the Music Teachers National Association Eastern Regional Piano Competition.

Carr earned this opportunity after winning the 2023 Delaware state MTNA piano competition. A junior at Worcester Preparatory School, Carr has been studying piano for 13 years and is currently a student of Dr. Ko-Eun Yi.

Carr has previously been invited to and performed at the Polish and Hungarian embassies, Manhattan School of Music, Columbia University, and Carnegie Hall multiple times. Accolades include: first place Music-Fest, first place American Protégé, first place YMIC competition, first place Steinway and Sons Washington-area youth piano competition; and second place Steinway and Sons Chopin piano competition,  

The winner of the division competition will compete in the national finals. Division winners will be announced in mid-January.
