Patricia C. Droney, longtime teacher’s aide

Patricia C. Droney, 81, of Millville, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023. She was born at Beebe Hospital in Lewes Feb. 6, 1942, daughter of the late Lambert and Virginia Solomon Foulk.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Droney; a son, Christopher Droney; and a sister, Lisa Ellis. Patricia is survived by one son, Clarke T Droney (Carol) of Millville; and one sister, Kit Crouch (Ron) of Newburn, N.C. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Richard Walls Jr. (Brianna), Mark Droney (Hannah), Jay Droney (Megan) and Katie Droney; along with seven great-grandchildren, Melody Walls, Waylan Walls, Ella Wallace, Patrick Droney, Parker Droney, Axyl Walls and Lennox Droney. Patricia also cherished her nieces and nephews, Sandra Peters (Bob), Michael Bouchard (Sharon), Kim Ellis (Giovanni), Whitney Yenesel (Ron), Megan Ellis (Jay), Jinni Forcucci (DJ), Alexa Fausey (Bob) and Carter Crouch (Dhadha). She is also survived by extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Friday, Nov. 10, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may visit beginning at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Kaeton will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Patricia’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; Millville Volunteer Fire Co., 35554 Atlantic Ave., Millville, DE 19967; or St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 422, Millsboro, DE 19966.
