Following official approval of a corporate merger Nov. 30, the Bank of Delmarva branch outside Rehoboth Beach is now LinkBank.

Andrew Samuel, CEO of LinkBank’s parent company Linkbancorp, announced Dec. 1 the completion of the merger.

“We are delighted with the closing of this transformational combination that establishes LinkBank as a premier Mid-Atlantic community bank franchise,” said Samuel in a prepared statement. “We look forward to moving forward united with an experienced and respected board, leadership team, and employees highly focused on building sustained value for our key stakeholders.”

The Bank of Delmarva is a subsidiary of Partners Bancorp, which also owns Virginia Partners Bank. LinkBancorp is the second company that tried to purchase the parent company. New Jersey-based OceanFirst Financial Corp. attempted to purchase the bank, but that ultimately fell through.

LinkBancorp was formed in 2018. Its subsidiary, LinkBank, is a Pennsylvania state-chartered bank serving individuals, families, nonprofits and business clients throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and New Jersey.

According to the company’s website, there are 31 locations and has $3 billion in assets. For more information, go to linkbank.com.
