Women’s Fest events to return April 25-28
Save the date and book a room, if needed, because CAMP Rehoboth’s Women’s Fest will return to Rehoboth Beach from Thursday to Sunday, April 25 to 28. Now in its 23rd year, Women’s Fest is known as the event where women can meet old friends and new, dance, laugh, learn and celebrate. CAMP Rehoboth is an organization that supports the well-being of the community, and the fair and equitable treatment of everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Starting with the traditional Georgette Krenkel Welcome Dance and kick-off party, Women’s Fest will feature entertainers, dances, a raffle, sports events, speakers, health information and screenings, and an expo. With details to be unveiled soon, look for a jam-packed weekend of women-oriented activities. The fest initials say it all: Fun, entertainment, spring, tradition.
This year’s headliner is a knockout: Lea DeLaria, who played Big Boo in “Orange is the New Black.” The first openly gay comic on television in America, DeLaria is an accomplished jazz performer who has appeared in concert venues all over the world.
Sports events are key parts of Women’s Fest. Planned activities include golf, pickleball, cornhole and bowling.
Also returning is the popular Broadwalk on the Boardwalk, a fundraising event that benefits Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition programs that improve breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, provide access to mammograms, and offer support and resources to men and women in the local community who are newly diagnosed or facing recurrence of breast cancer.
