Lord Baltimore Lions celebrate 78 years of service

January 30, 2024

The Lord Baltimore Lions Club held a dinner Jan. 17 at Cripple Creek Golf & Country Club. Members and guests joined in celebrating the club’s 78 years of service to the community. They all enjoyed a delicious dinner and heard comments from Vice President Pat Sanzone of the Millsboro Lions Club, which sponsored the Lord Baltimore group 78 years ago.

Guest speaker Sen. Gerald Hocker, R-Ocean View, spoke about his fond memories of helping the Lord Baltimore Lions on many projects. He also said he was very proud to be one of the non-Lions to be presented with a Melvin Jones Award and a Ralph Helm Fellowship Award by the Lord Baltimore Lions Club. Hocker continues to assist the club by providing a storage building for all the medical equipment it lends out to the community when needed.

The Lord Baltimore Lions Club has been active in the local community since 1946 and is part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization.
