Charlene Davis Hunsberger, devoted to family, friends

January 24, 2024

Charlene Davis Hunsberger, known to all as "Charley," passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, after an eight-year struggle with frontal temporal dysplasia, also known as Pick's disease.

Charley was born May 4, 1964, in Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford. She would go on to graduate from Woodbridge High School in 1982 and from Delaware Technical and Community College with an associate degree. She married Tom Hunsberger, the love of her life, Oct. 30, 1999.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas "Tommy" Hunsberger; her sisters, Cindy Davis of Jupiter, Fla., and Stephanie Davis Perciful (Robert) of Lewes; and her nephews and niece, Andrew Perciful, Gram Perciful and Elizabeth Perciful, all of New Orleans, La. She is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews of her husband, Tom.

To list all of Charley's dear friends would fill volumes, as she was generous with her love and appreciation for all.

She was known as a diligent worker, and held numerous positions in the real estate and lending industries.

Charley will be remembered for her devotion to Tommy and her family, her dear friends from school and work, and for being the life of every party or social gathering. She loved her many cats and her dog, Sheba.

She was predeceased by her father and mother, Charles and Marilyn Davis.

The family would like to thank the good people of Milford Place and Country Rest Home for their loving care and devotion to Charley as she struggled until the end.

A Celebration of Charley’s Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, at Parsell Funeral Home & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m.
