Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary grant applications due March 15
The Lewes-Rehoboth Beach Rotary Club is now accepting applications for community grants.
The club awards these grants twice a year, in the fall and spring. Money is derived from the club’s Flags for Heroes and Trail Guide projects, and numerous other events.
In fall 2023, the club awarded $21,000, distributed among seven nonprofits doing good work helping people in local communities: Warrior Community Connect, Clothing Our Kids, First Tee of Delaware, Kent-Sussex Industries, Shepherd’s Office Inc., Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens and Race4Warriors.
This spring, the team will award more grants to help communities. For guidelines, go to Lewes-RehobothRotary.org and click on the grant request tab.
Grants are awarded to programs that serve Sussex County. Funding requests typically range between $500 and $3,000.
Beneficiaries must be IRS-recognized, tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations. Grants will not be awarded to individuals; political associations or candidates; organizations that discriminate by race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability or national origin; or bricks-and-mortar and similar building/construction projects.
The grants committee may recommend approval, defer or decline a proposal, and/or suggest awarding an amount different from the original request based on funds available. The board of directors will make final grant decisions.
The application deadline is Friday, March 15. Materials can be mailed to P.O. Box 91, Lewes, DE 19958 or emailed to lewesrehobothrotary@gmail.com.
