Gloria K. Abbrescia, enjoyed traveling
Gloria K. Abbrescia passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover.
Born in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Esther Maloley Saad.
She worked for many years as a business manager for Chesapeake Oral Surgery Associates. Gloria always enjoyed playing slot machines locally and abroad, playing on her favorite iPad, and watching game shows and CSI on TV. Her favorite place to be was out in the sun, and she annually frequented many Caribbean and Hawaiian Islands over the past several decades. Gloria always used her wit and sharp humor to communicate with friends, neighbors and family.
She was preceded in passing by her late husband, John D. Abbrescia. She leaves her two loving sons, John Michael and Vincent Dominick Abbrescia; five grandchildren, John Michael, Dominique Elizabeth, Ariana Angelina, Isabella Nina and Gianna Sophia Abbrescia; along with four great-grandchildren, Liliana Abbrescia, Arabella and Josephine Coontz, and Sterling Strawderman.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, March 1, at Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Home, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Interment for immediate family members will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, consider a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Gloria and her late husband John’s favorite charity.
