Linda Price, kind, gentle soul
Linda Price, a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, peacefully passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, in Lewes. Linda was born March 29, 1943, in the quaint town of Manistee, Mich., to the late Russell J. Vander Veen and Jane E. Vander Veen (Wellman).
She attended Marshall High. After graduating, Linda embarked on a new chapter in life when she moved to Delaware. It was there that she married Warren A. Price (1942-2014), and together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and family. Linda devoted herself to raising her three children, and alongside her husband, she explored the world through business trips and enjoyed family vacations in the Florida Keys and Caribbean. Passionate about fashion, the arts, and interior design, she had a way of creating a beautiful space for others to experience.
Linda had an innate love for animals, and her mornings were often spent feeding and caring for wild birds, bunnies, and squirrels. She would not hesitate to rescue any creatures in need when possible. Linda also had an entrepreneurial spirit. Alongside her mother and sister, she owned and operated The Dance Collection in Dover from 1989-99, a retail shop dedicated to clothing local dancers and fitting their ballet shoes.
After her husband, Warren, passed away in 2014, Linda oversaw the Price Automotive Group and Enterprise, continuing the family legacy in his absence. Above all, Linda's dedication to her family was unwavering. A selfless caretaker, she ensured the happiness and well-being of all those around her.
Known for her kind and gentle spirit, Linda possessed a lightness about her that kept spirits bright, even in the face of challenges. Her laughter and playful spirit had a magical way of brightening any room she entered, along with her sparkling blue eyes.
Survived by her three children, Todd (Dominique) Fisher, Harper Price and Sasha Price; as well as her sister, Katrina Eichler; and grandson, Justin Fisher, Linda leaves behind a legacy of everlasting love, compassion, and grace. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren A. Price; and her brothers, David Vander Veen and Patrick Vander Veen. Linda's departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt and fiercely honored.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held in late spring to honor her legacy.
