Elks donate $3,000 to Wesley UMC food pantry and lunch program

March 31, 2024

As in years past, Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 of Lewes seeks and receives monies from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, to support worthy causes in and around the local community.

Cape Henlopen Elks recently donated $3,000 to Wesley United Methodist Church in Georgetown for its food pantry and brown bag lunch programs. They operate all year to provide for those who are poor, homeless, underserved, unemployed and underemployed in lower Sussex County communities.

Part of the mission of the Elks National Foundation, and each Elks lodge, is to help build stronger communities by investing in local projects that improve the quality of life.

Cape Henlopen Elks are proud once again to support Wesley UMC’s food pantry ministry to ensure economically disadvantaged families in the community receive wholesome meals year-round.
