The Friends of the Lewes Public Library will hold a mystery, biography and rare book sale from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, April 19, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 20, at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.
It will feature more than 3,000 mystery, thriller and suspense novels and along with over 500 biographies, several of which are rare and collectible. Prices start at $3, with proceeds benefiting the library.
“Do you like a good mystery? You are not alone. It's no mystery that crime is our top-selling genre,” said Candace Vessella, Friends of the Lewes Public Library president. “Shoppers will also find a wide selection of biographies of important figures from United States and international history, as well as memoirs of famous (and not-so-famous) persons. We’re delighted to pass these wonderful books on to people who will appreciate them, and in the process, raise much-needed funds for our library.”
During the sale weekend, the Friends will also raffle off an exclusive cotton throw valued at $84.50 depicting the history of the Lewes Public Library,, along with a basket full of mystery books. Tickets are $3 each, with discounts for purchases of two, five and 12 tickets.
Friends of the Lewes Public Library is a separate 501(c)(3) affiliate of contributing members who support the Lewes Public Library. Proceeds will be used for book and media purchases, library programming, special projects and other library needs.
