Della Marie Wanda, Westinghouse retiree

Della Marie Wanda, 99, of Milton, passed away surrounded by her family Sunday, March 31, 2024. 

She was born March 23, 1925, in Baltimore, Md., to William Meise and Mary Teresa Maenner. 

Della was married to John Wanda until his passing in 2004. She retired from Westinghouse, and she loved camping. In 1972, she began staying at Port Delmarva in Rehoboth Beach, where she was in charge of cooking and activities. She also wintered in Melbourne, Fla., for several years. 

Della also enjoyed cooking and preparing food for family gatherings. She also had creative hobbies, including crocheting and needlepoint crafts. 

Along with her husband, Della was preceded in death by her son, John Wanda Jr. She is survived by her daughters Carolyn Marie Kline and Charlene Itzel; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m., Friday, April 12, at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Md.
