Carmella Agnes Jones, teacher, devout Catholic
For over three decades, Carmella devoted herself to teaching and guiding as director of Religious Education at Holy Cross Parish. Her dedication to education left an indelible mark on countless lives, as teaching was not just a job, but a profound passion that permeated every aspect of her being.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Carmella found joy in art, storytelling, and upholding cherished family traditions during holidays. Her artistic flair and storytelling prowess illuminated and enriched the world around her.
Carmella is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Clifford Jones Sr., her children, Clifford Jones Jr. (Carolyn), Cara Giordano (Michael), Caroline Del Vecchio (Mark) and Col. Cullen Jones (Sharon); and her beloved grandchildren, Anna Marie, Thomas, Gioiella, Dylan, Francesco, Nicolo, Carmela, Jameson and Arden.
As a loyal member of Holy Cross Church, Carmella found solace and a sense of belonging within her faith community. Her deep commitment to her spiritual beliefs was evident in her daily life and interactions with others.
Carmella's legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering dedication will forever endure in the hearts and memories of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a profound void, deeply felt by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, at The Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S. State St., Dover. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
