Howard Thomas Moore, longtime mechanic

Howard Thomas “Tom” Moore, 80, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 11, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Tom was born in Slaughter Beach June 12, 1943, to the late Clarence Jefferson “Tuck” and Margaret Louise (Welch) Moore.

Tom worked for the State of Delaware as a mechanic. He loved his small farm in Lincoln but moved to Georgetown after the loss of his beloved wife, Daughn. He enjoyed hunting, watching Westerns (especially John Wayne movies), and he loved animals.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Daughn (Gilbert) Moore, in 2014; brothers, George Golden Moore in 1994, and John Harry Moore in 1993; and great-granddaughter, Eilleigh Barton in 2023.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Gina and Howard Pepper of Georgetown, Scott Williams, and Stephanie Brooks of Oak Park, Ill.; siblings, Joyce Pavlosky of Milford, and Glen Moore of Milton; grandchildren, Katelyn Kenney, Logan Pepper, Debbie Johnson and Michael Williams; and eight great-grandchildren.

Per the family’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
