Group acupuncture for stress relief sessions start June 20

May 28, 2024

HealTree will present Third Thursday Time Out Group Acupuncture for Stress Reduction, facilitated by Lauren Mund, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., June 20, July 18 and Aug. 15, at 1632 Savannah Road, Suite 10, Lewes.

An effective form of medical treatment, acupuncture has evolved into a complete holistic healthcare system. Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have used this noninvasive treatment method to help millions of people become well and stay well. Acupuncture promotes natural healing. It can enhance recuperative power and immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being. It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.

According to ancient Chinese medicine and more modern European ear acupuncture, the whole body is represented in each of a person’s ears. Ancient and modern acupuncture have been used to activate points in the ears to help relieve overall pain and stress in the body. Stimulating points in the ear can help make some space between thinking, feeling and acting, paving the way for changing habits of mind and body.

In these hour-long sessions, participants receive group acupuncture in their ears. Acupuncture will be offered with seeds/pellets (which don’t puncture the skin) or needles. Donations are kindly requested on a pay-what-you-can basis with suggested donations starting at $5 and ending at $40.

Mund originally began practicing acupuncture in New York in 2009 after graduating from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, Fla. She is a licensed acupuncturist in Delaware and New York, and a certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She practices various styles of acupuncture including Five Element, Balance Method and Master Tung, and auricular acupuncture. Mund has a background in massage therapy, and is experienced in working with musculoskeletal issues and pain management for people with chronic back, neck and shoulder pain. Mund believes awareness is key to increased well-being.
