Keith E. Hockman, treasured family, friends
Keith Edward Hockman, 58, of Lewes passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born June 22, 1965, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to the late Todd and Margaret Hockman.
Keith graduated from Cape Henlopen High School Class of 1983. During that time, he worked alongside his dad in the family business, Todd Hockman & Son Oil Burner Service. He went on to make his career in carpentry/tile laying business. Keith was known to be a very meticulous and skilled worker; some would even say he was a perfectionist because he took great pride in his work.
Keith had a great affinity for sailing and going to the beach. He was a mate at Fisherman’s Wharf and could often be found at the docks. Also, he was a junior firefighter with Station 82 in Lewes. He was a lover of food, especially blueberry pie. Keith loved his Dobermans, Zeus and Apollo, who were his best friends. Keith's most treasured time was spent with family and friends, for whom he would do anything. He was a fighter and fought his cancer hard, and will be remembered as an amazing son, brother and uncle. Keith will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and whose lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his niece, Stephanie Wiedmann; and brothers-in-law Bruce Heal and Dennis Fletcher Sr. He is survived by two sisters, Cathy Durham (Jon) and Patricia Heal; his fiancé, Robin Wolfe; stepmother, Darlene Hockman; stepsister, Kitty Fletcher; nieces Whitney Hoare (Jason), Heather Punko and Jasmine Bradford; nephews Jared Durham (Jasmin), Nicklaus Durham and William Wiedmann; and many great-nieces and -nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong friend Keith Hennessey and his second mom, Shirley.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 21, at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 660 Pilottown Road, Lewes. A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be announced soon.
