Rally for Our First Responders a resounding success

On June 1, Hudson Fields in Milton played host to an event developed by Kyle Shaffer and her husband Darren – the Rally for Our First Responders.

“When Cpl. Keith Heacook was murdered three years ago, my friends and I wanted to host a fundraiser, and we could not find a venue that was available,” Kyle said. “I then decided that we should have a rally, even if it was for one day, to have the community come together and give thanks and give back to our first responders who put their lives on the front line to help keep us all safe each day. So far, we have helped raise $153,000 over the past two years, and my goal for the third rally is $100,000.”

The event featured live music from the Jimmies, 3 Hour Tour Band and the Atomic Light Orchestra. It also had more than 30 vendors, food trucks, inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, a car show, cornhole tournaments and much more.
