Robert Thomas Cora, retired millwright
Robert Thomas Cora left this life Monday June 3, 2024, in Seaford, where he made his residence. He was born to Mary L. Cora Oct. 24, 1940, in Baltimore, Md.
Bob was raised by his grandparents, John and Dora Cora. He had aunts and uncles who also shaped the man he became, especially his aunt, Doris Cora. Bob had one brother, Richard Pindell, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine “Rainie”; his children, Robert Coburn, Michele Willet, Danny (Kim) and Bobby Davis, Kim Mullens, Melanie (Kevin) Reynolds, and Pamela (Gene) Wheeler; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bob (aka Daddy, Pop, Pop Pop, or Mr. Bob) was loved by many; his faithful, loyal friends became his chosen family. Special acknowledgment goes to Dena and Josh Rayne, who went above and beyond for many years. They provided love, care, meals, prayers, and so much more than they could ever be thanked. Once you got through his tough exterior, you would discover his heart of gold and a devoted friend.
Bob wore many hats in his life, but his hard hat was issued by Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows Point. He retired after more than 30 years of service as a millwright. He loved cars, fishing, collecting, and wheeling and dealing. Bob was well known at Wilson’s Auction and for having a vast inventory of doors and windows.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, Seaford, where family and friends may call beginning at 6 p.m. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Md.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to his hospice care provider: Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Ste. A, Baton Rouge LA 70816.
