Fairfield Inn & Suites Rehoboth unveils major renovations

July 20, 2024

The Fairfield Inn & Suites on Coastal Highway north of Rehoboth Beach recently announced the completion of an extensive renovation project that has transformed the hotel’s aesthetic and amenities, enhancing the guest experience.

The work took more than six months and incurred an investment of approximately $2 million.

“The work that was completed was greatly needed, as the hotel has seen many guests over the years, and even though our team does a great job maintaining the hotel, the space as a whole was starting to look a little dated,” said Julie Hudson, Hudson Management co-owner. The renovation work on the 10-year-old hotel was completed during the off-season months to have the least impact on guests, said Hudson.

Local contracting company Whiting Turner contributed more than 14,000 hours of manpower to the project that required roofers, electricians, HVAC installers, carpenters, painters, flooring people and general laborers.

The renovations included replacing the hotel’s roof. All of the wall vinyl, carpet and furniture in public spaces was updated. The color scheme in these areas shifted from multicolored tones, predominantly orange, to a modern palette of blues and greys.

“The new decor and furniture have made a huge difference, in my opinion. The space feels much more coastal and welcoming, and mirrors our resort area much more than the previous décor,” said Hudson.

Each of the 94 guest rooms received new carpeting, fresh, textured paint, new lamp packages, 55-inch TVs with streaming capabilities, and new window treatments.

“The updated public spaces and guest rooms offer a more relaxing and visually appealing environment for visitors,” said Jerry Bellistri, general manager of the Fairfield Inn. “The renovation has yielded highly positive feedback from guests and administration.”
