Thier has all the right skills for Rehoboth

July 26, 2024

All of us who own property or live in Rehoboth Beach are being asked: who will you choose to lead our city in the next three years? There are four candidates, but the one who stands out is Craig Thier.

Craig has the mix of skill and leadership we need right now. Recent news about the city budget illustrates just how badly we need his 25 years in financial management and forecasting to bring our house in order. He can apply his skills from Day 1 to create realistic budgets and plans for the next several years and ensure the city’s spending stays on track. Fortunately, the city now has a $2.7 million surplus (update from the July 19 commissioner meeting). His Day 1 priority is to overhaul the budgeting and planning processes for visibility to future surpluses or deficits.

Craig understands our greatest assets: the Boardwalk and beach. As a member of the boardwalk and beach committee, Craig is up to date on the needs and priorities that will keep these precious parts of our city vital and welcoming.

Finally, Craig is committed to our community. He volunteers at various community organizations, including Special Olympics, Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding, and the Save Our Lakes Alliance3. He has been a homeowner in Rehoboth Beach for more than 20 years and a full-time resident for over three years. His commitment to our town is evidenced by his serving on numerous committees and volunteering with local organizations.

Craig is a committed and thoughtful candidate whose skill and commitment are needed in this serious time. Craig deserves the support of every voter in Rehoboth Beach Saturday, Aug. 10 or by absentee ballot.
