John W. Lawler, never met a stranger
John W. Lawler, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, passed away suddenly but not unexpectedly Monday, July 1, 2024, at home in Glenside, Pa.
John was born March 23, 1953, in Austin, Texas, to the late J.W. Lawler and Helen (Doran) Lawler. Being an Air Force brat, he lived in many parts of the U.S., including Texas, North Dakota, Alaska, and Puerto Rico before finally settling in Atlantic City, N.J.
John is predeceased by his father; and brothers, Royce, Joe and JT. He is survived by his mother, Helen; brothers, Matt Lawler and Gregory Johnson; and sisters, Marie Pocsi and Julie Lawler.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Michael Ridings (Morgan) and his mother Bets Ridings; beloved grandchildren, Tristan, Keira and Sydney Ridings, all of Lewes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends; and fishing buddies all along the Atlantic coast.
John never met a stranger, and his stories and tall tales are legendary. He will be missed by many. Enjoy fishing in heaven!
Per John's request, there will not be a formal service, a gathering of close friends and family at a later date.
