Linda E. McLane, longtime bookkeeper

Linda E. McLane (nee Bell), 86, went home to be with the Lord Thursday July 25, 2024, at her home in Lewes. She was the beloved wife of the late Vernon D. McLane. Linda was born Jan. 25, 1938, in York, Pa., daughter of the late Gayle (Bell) Miller and Ross Bell Sr. 

Linda had been employed for many years as a bookkeeper for a dental firm in Pennsylvania and the municipal offices in Dewey Beach.

She was a member of Conley's United Methodist Church in Lewes. 

In addition to her husband, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Nickol. She is survived by her two daughters, Lynn and Tana, and their husbands; one grandson, Joshua Freeze; and her brother, Dr. Ross Bell and his wife Adrienne.

A service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 29, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery chapel, Millsboro, with interment to follow.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conley's United Methodist Church, 33106 Jolyns Way, Lewes, DE 19958.
