Marian W. Davis, beacon of faith, wisdom
Marian W. "Kitty" Davis, 89, of Millsboro, a beacon of faith and wisdom, passed away peacefully Monday, July 22, 2024. She was born June 3, 1935, in Baltimore, Md. Kitty embodied a life of devotion to learning, service, and compassion.
Kitty's profound intellect led her to achieve a doctorate, a testament to her commitment to education. She channeled her intelligence and fortitude into a life of missionary work, touching countless lives with her kindness and unwavering commitment to her faith.
A beloved member of the Selbyville Assembly of God, Kitty's dedication to her faith and community was palpable. She was a pillar in her congregation, respected and loved for her generous spirit and boundless intelligence. Anyone who knew Kitty could see how her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her in every action and deed she carried out.
Beyond her accomplishments and services, Kitty nurtured a tender love for cats. At one point, her caring and generous nature extended to taking care of 27 felines, each one of them cherished and well taken care of under her watchful eye.
Kitty was predeceased by her parents; her husband, William John Davis Jr.; and one brother. She will be fondly remembered by her sister, Elizabeth Ward Nottrodt of Baltimore, Md.; and her niece, Terri Ward of Florida; along with a community of friends and those whose lives she impacted. Her legacy of unwavering kindness, deep faith, and brilliant intellect will continue to inspire and live on in the memories of all who had the pleasure of knowing Kitty.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Monday, July 29, at Selbyville Assembly of God, 36360 Pepper Road, Selbyville.
