Charles Edmund Walker departed this life Friday, July 26, 2024, at his birthplace in Elkton, Md. He was born to the late John Walker and Cynthia Marie Walker (Cobourn) June 5, 1963. He spent his childhood and early adulthood in Newark.
Charles is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Jeanine, with whom he built a lifetime of cherished memories. He is survived by his wife; his three children, Rachel Jones of Millsboro, Charles Yeatman of Newark, and Angela Gifford of Newark; his six siblings, Valerie Ward, Constance Wood, April Joseph (James), Robert Walker, Stephen Walker and Regina Rearic (David); his seven grandchildren, Shane Jones, Josephine Jones, Alton Miller, Naomi Yeatman, Nialah Bowers, Andre Bowers and Davon Bowers; and his six great-grandchildren.
Charles was a true artisan, owning and operating Charlie's Spa and Pool Service. To those who knew him, he was a jack of all trades, an adept fixer and builder, leaving a lasting imprint of his handiwork in many treasured projects. An outdoor enthusiast, Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing. He relished the times spent behind the wheel of his classic Camaro. An ardent griller and cook, Charles found joy in flavors and fellowship, often the life of the party, drawing people in with his infectious sense of humor.
Charles’ presence was a beacon of light and laughter in the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His passing leaves behind a legacy of joy, a treasure trove of stories, and the enduring love of his extensive family. His was a life well-lived and thoroughly cherished.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Interment will immediately follow at Carey’s Cemetery, Conaway Road, Millsboro.
