James B. Lorenz, veteran, man of faith
James B. Lorenz, 93, affectionately known as “Jim,” passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024. He was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Ashton, Neb., to Bennet and Clara Lorenz.
Jim served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force for six years. After his military service, he pursued higher education at University of Southern California, where he earned his engineering degree. His professional career led him to Boeing, where he made significant contributions until his retirement.
For the past 30 years, Jim enjoyed a well-deserved retirement and shared his life with his beloved wife, Moneera, whom he married 30 years ago. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including fishing, reading, and singing in the church choir. His warm presence and melodic voice were cherished by all who knew him.
Jim was predeceased by his daughter, Christina. He is survived by his stepchildren, John Ghabra and his wife Susan, Mouna Karas and her husband Rob, Dan Lorenz and his wife Kristen, and Margo Elsayd. He was a proud grandfather and is survived by 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom will remember him with love and affection.
Jim will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for life, and his dedication to his faith. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
