Stephen D. Greenly, veteran, respiratory therapist
Stephen “Steve” D. Greenly, 76, of Ellendale, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024.
He was born July 23, 1948, to his parents David A. and Wanda (Kibler) Greenly, in Milford.
Steve had his own sign business for 25 years, known as Steve’s Sign Service, and then was a respiratory therapist with Bayhealth for 20 years. He served his country in the Navy. Steve loved playing guitar, bass fishing, and restoration of vintage trucks. He was also a good joke teller, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, David A. and Wanda (Kibler) Greenly.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Julie (Ennis) Greenly; son, Mark Stephen Greenly (Kelly); daughter, Stephanie Greenly Forwood (Scott); brother, David Greenly (Charlotte); nephew, Jeff Greenly; and grandsons, Conor Greenly and Scottie Forwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions in Steve’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 DuPont Hwy., Georgetown, DE 19947.
The family will have a Celebration of Life for Steve at a later date.
