The annual visit of Fusion Lacrosse to Cape Henlopen State Park took place Aug. 12-15, when more than 25 campers attended Cape Escape Camp to sharpen their skills to cradle, check, shoot, pass and dodge while learning offense and defensive skills.
Fusion Lacrosse, an all-encompassing premier resource for committed lacrosse players to become the most successful athletes they can be, was open to boys with graduation dates of 2028-33. Campers stayed in dorms and enjoyed their days playing on the beach, swimming in the ocean and playing lacrosse.
“It’s my first time here, and I love the camp,” said 12-year-old Liam Reich. “It has good people and good coaches. I’ve improved my stick skills. I’ve been shooting better, learning how to place my shots. The drills we have are great. They really help. It’s a lot of fun.”
“Cape Escape Camp has been one of the most fun weeks of the year in the Fusion Lacrosse community for both campers and staff for about 10 years now,” said coach and instructor Ian Allender. “Our camp is intentionally run after the completion of the club lacrosse season, and serves to combine professional coaching with an emphasis on truly enjoying the game. Running this camp has honestly been one of the most uniquely fun opportunities I've had with lacrosse.”
