Dewey Beach police seeking suspects in July 5 stabbing

The Dewey Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a stabbing that occurred during the early morning of July 5.

About 1:07 a.m. July 5, officers responded to a serious assault involving a stabbing victim at Northbeach, located at 125 McKinley Ave., Lt. Cliff Dempsey said.

When officers arrived, they found two victims in the gravel parking lot near the entrance, Dempsey said, noting that officers determined that a large physical altercation had taken place, with multiple individuals assaulting the victims. Officers administered first aid to both victims while awaiting the arrival of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County EMS. Both victims were subsequently transported by ambulance to Beebe Medical Center, where they were reported to be in stable condition, he said. 

The suspects are believed to reside in the Millsboro, Milton and Ellendale areas, Dempsey said.
