Lewes Beach Patrol builds on previous success

August 30, 2024

As the traditional summer draws to a close, I want to thank the leaders and members of the Lewes Beach Patrol for such a wonderful season. Lewes Beach Patrol Capt. Strohm Edwards and Lewes Beach Patrol Chief Mark Woodard continue to build on the success of previous summers, featuring well-trained lifeguards, creating a congenial atmosphere with beachgoers, and being proactive with safety situations.

The young men and women lifeguards provided outstanding customer service throughout the season, which included a prolonged heat wave. They are professional and focused – a real asset to the city.

The Lewes Beach Patrol staff will continue to make refinements to its program each year, going from strength to strength.

As we turn the page on their third season, I already look forward to the 2025 season.
