Bayhealth Foundation honored Mary Ann Chorman with a plaque dedication at the Bayhealth Sussex Campus, commemorating her extraordinary 39-year career as a nurse at Milford Memorial Hospital.
Now prominently displayed on the fifth floor of the Bayhealth Hospital Sussex Campus, the plaque celebrates her dedication and compassionate care for the community.
Chorman has touched countless lives with her distinguished service, embodying the values of excellence and empathy in nursing. Her commitment to patient care and the well-being of her colleagues has left a lasting impact on the healthcare community.
“Mary Ann and I met shortly after I arrived at Bayhealth over 20 years ago, when we were both working at Milford Memorial Hospital. It was immediately evident that Mrs. Chorman was an outstanding caregiver and a leader among our nursing team members. Everyone will tell you that she always put the best interests of our patients first and that she could always be counted on to know and follow the appropriate protocol to ensure that goal,” said Terry Murphy, FACHE, Bayhealth president and CEO. “Mary Ann has my personal admiration and thanks for the many years that she dedicated to first-rate patient care at Bayhealth. I wish her all the best as she continues to enjoy her retirement.”
Chorman was presented with the plaque during the ceremony, surrounded by family, friends and colleagues. The plaque dedication ensures that her legacy will continue to inspire future generations of healthcare professionals.
