RAL beginner oil or acrylic painting series to start Sept. 30

A beginner oil painting class series will kick off from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, at Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres. Classes continue weekly through Oct. 21.

Students will explore all the techniques that make oil and acrylic paint different and similar. Participants will learn when to use medium vs. thinner, how to layer paintings, and the basics of glazing, toning and mixing color.

Local artist and instructor Barry Koplowitz will provide the source photo, and will work with each student individually and meet them at their current skill levels.

The class is available for students at a beginner skill level, 18 years old and over. Cost is $200 for RAL members or $235 for nonmembers.
