Beacon Building supports Roofs from the Heart projects

September 28, 2024

Beacon Building Products recently committed to donating roofing supplies for Roofs from the Heart projects.

Founded by G. Fedale Roofing and Siding, the nonprofit provides quality new roofs for Delawareans in need to help them maintain safe and secure shelter for their families.

In partnership with Beacon and G. Fedale Roofing and Siding, Roofs from the Heart is installing a new roof for Jamie Nichols, a resident in Sussex County. After losing her husband to COVID-19 in 2021, she experienced many struggles with the home. After she applied to the program, Nichols was overjoyed that her deteriorating roof would be replaced at no labor cost to her, and that the materials were being donated as well. Supply donations such as this one from Beacon give the organization the ability to replace even more roofs every year. In 2023, RFTH replaced four roofs, and it is on pace to complete replacement of  a total of 10 roofs in 2024.

Replacing deteriorating roof systems with new materials leads to a reduction in health risks associated with damp homes, such as mold and mildew. New roofing increases air quality, and eliminates ways for pests and allergens to enter the home. It also greatly reduces financial burden and helps create a new peace of mind for residents.

Roofs from the Heart is covering the costs for labor and installation. With an office in Lewes, Beacon Building Products, the largest publicly traded distributor of roofing materials and complementary building products in the U.S. and Canada, donated roofing shingles and some other materials. For its roof replacement contracts, general contractor G. Fedale offers discounts to Roofs from the Heart.
