Anthony J. Raia, Army veteran

Anthony “Tony” J. Raia, 80, of Millsboro, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born Aug. 4, 1943, in Jersey City, N.J. 

He joined the Army at 17, serving four years in Germany.

Tony enjoyed spending time with his wife, Pat; and son, JJ and family. He also liked traveling, golf, playing cards, dining, and wine tastings at their friend’s Peruvian/Argentinian restaurant with family and friends.

Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Mariona; father, Bob; sister, Madeline; two brothers, Joe and Freddy; his in-laws John and Helen; and brothers-in-law, Andy, John and Jerry.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lavook of Millsboro; son, JJ; his sister, Beverlee and her husband; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private service was held at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
