Michael J. McLimans, Eagles fan
Michael J. McLimans, 73, of Milton, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.
Mike was born in West Chester, Pa., Oct. 4, 1950, son of the late George McLimans and the late Anna Mae (Reynolds) Norton.
Mike moved to southern Delaware shortly after leaving school, and Sussex County became his home. He primarily cut lawns and did minor landscaping jobs. Mike was a Philly sports fan, especially his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his love of cooking, his ability to talk to anyone he met, and his amazing sense of humor.
In addition to his father, George McLimans, and his mother, Anna Mae Norton, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Orville Rucker; and a lifelong friend, Thelma Harmon. Mike is survived by five siblings, Jesse McLimans and his companion Carol, Robert McLaughlin, Debbie Robinson and her husband George, Donna Alexander and her husband Bob, and Mary Burt and her husband Jack. Mike is also survived by the family that he made once moving to Delaware, his nephew, Michael Burrows and his wife Tamra, and their five children, John Brown-Harmon, Naomi Brown-Harmon, Mickey Burrows, Jaylah Long and Jax Burrows; a nephew, Willis Harmon; and a lifelong friend, Wandra Harmon.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 30, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Millsboro.
