Free yoga and meditation programs available Oct. 4-5
Rehoboth Beach Yoga and Turning Point Yoga & Meditation will host two free programs Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4 and 5.
Free Yoga for Pain Relief, an introduction to Svaroopa yoga, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4, at Rehoboth Beach Yoga, 20245 Bay Vista Road. Attendees are welcome to come with questions about their aches and pains, and instructors will offer suggestions for relief. They will also explain how Svaroopa yoga works compared to medicine.
Participants will try a few easy, pain-relieving yoga poses as a group; no previous yoga experience is required. Wearing comfortable clothes that allow bending and stretching is recommended.
Free Intro to Meditation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, at Turning Point Yoga and Meditation in Milton. Attendees can discover an easy pathway to deep meditation in just 90 minutes. Instead of focusing on their mind, participants will dive deeper inward, exploring their own divine essence by using the shortcuts that yogis specialize in.
This meditation methodology, called Svaroopa Vidya, is based in yoga’s ancient teachings coming from the Himalayan sages. Students can learn about the goal and purpose of meditation as well as the how-to basics.
These programs will be taught by Swami Satrupananda Saraswati from Svaroopa Vidya Ashram in Downingtown, Pa. She is both a Svaroopa yoga teacher and meditation teacher.
