Vote411 guide prepares voters for Nov. 5 elections

October 9, 2024

The Delaware League of Women Voters’ online voter education resource, Vote411.org/Delaware, is a valuable tool for helping voters cast an informed ballot in November’s general election.

Numerous candidates running for federal, state and local offices bring significantly opposing views on a number of crucial issues and voters may feel overwhelmed by the choices.

The nonpartisan, one-stop shop resource provides simple tools voters can access online to stay informed on the status of the elections and navigate the voting process before Election Day. Voters can read side-by-side comparisons of different candidates’ background and positions, register to vote, find their district and polling place, and access other helpful election information.

Vote411 also provides candidate bios, elected official job descriptions; polling places for Election Day and early voting; and deadlines for voter registration, early voting, and submission of absentee ballots. More importantly, it includes a listing of candidate debates and forums, as well as recordings of past forums, including those hosted by the league. Forums are one of the best ways to get a strong feel for a candidate and their viewpoints.

“This nonpartisan voter guide will be of immense help to everyone,” said Jill Itzkowit, Vote411 coordinator. “We encourage everyone to learn about the candidates in preparing to vote. It has never been more important -- or challenging -- to make an informed choice.”

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization that does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for elective office. Its mission is to encourage active and informed participation in government, and to increase understanding of public policy issues.
