Hispanic perspective on art is program topic Oct. 24

Milton Arts Guild will present “A Hispanic Perspective on Art” at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, at Milton CHEER Center, 24855 Broadkill Road, Milton. 

Presenter Itzel Aguilar is a local Mexican-American artist who will discuss the inspirations and influences reflected in her work.  The talk is free and the public is encouraged to attend.  Light refreshments will be provided.  

A first-generation Mexican-American painter and mixed-media artist, Aguilar will discuss her background in the arts and will display several pieces of her work. She attended the Delaware College of Art and Design in 2009 and has been honing her style ever since.  Hand-woven yarn from Mexico, industrial and organic material, and a bright acrylic palette are some of the experimental elements she incorporates in her work that represent her indigenous roots.
