James Donald Welsh, flight paramedic

James Donald Welsh, 29, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2024. He was born Sept. 24, 1995, to Kyle and Deanne (Fromal) Welsh of Harbeson.

He earned his bachelor's degree in emergency medical care from Eastern Kentucky University and was a flight paramedic for Air Evac. James was a national registered paramedic and certified flight paramedic.

James was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the owner and operator of Hot Shot Drone Deer Recovery. 

He is survived by his devoted parents; cherished wife, Haley Brooke (Buerkley) Welsh, whom he married Oct. 29, 2022, and Baby Welsh due February 2025; his treasured brother, Michael K. Welsh; his maternal grandparents, MarySue A. Forestieri and Clinton M. Fromal; paternal grandmother, Linda E. Welsh; his mother-in-law, Lisa H. Buerkley; his brother-in-law, Hayden C. Buerkley; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald L. Welsh; and his father-in-law, Joseph G. Buerkley. 

A visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro.

A second visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 21, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Millsboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, where the eulogy will begin promptly at 10:45 a.m.
