The Royalton Hotel predates Royal Treat

The Royalton Hotel on Wilmington Avenue was once a popular place for family reunions and social gatherings. Dating back to the early 1900s, the space was also known as the Rev. Morgan’s Boarding House and Thawley’s Hotel. Owner Addison T. Thawley opened his hotel there in the early 1930s and operated it until the mid-1940s. Later, it became home to the Royal Treat, which was demolished in January after 42 years in business.
