Hoey Stevenson is type of leader we need

October 25, 2024

I am writing the following in support of Kim Hoey Stevenson for state Senate.

As a working woman and mother, I know firsthand the challenges many families face. Balancing a demanding career with raising children and supporting their dreams isn’t always easy. That’s why I’m supporting Kim Hoey Stevenson for state Senate. Kim embodies the values that matter to me: community, integrity and genuine care for others.

I first met Kim through a small group at our church, which she led with her husband. Kim created a welcoming space for the families that were part of the small group. She didn’t just lead the group; she provided a space where we all felt heard, supported and empowered.

Kim also helped my family in a very personal way. When my son was applying to colleges, an overwhelming process, especially writing the application essays, Kim, with her eye for detail and her generous spirit, took the time to read through his drafts and helped him refine his thoughts. Kim didn’t have to do that; she chose to, because that’s who she is.

Her ability to bring people together, to offer guidance without asking for anything in return, and to stand up for what’s right is exactly why she’ll be a fantastic state senator. In the same way she’s fostered community and supported others in her personal life, I know she’ll do the same for our district. She listens to all sides of an issue, works hard and genuinely cares about making things better for everyone, regardless of their background or political views.

Kim is the kind of leader we need – someone who sees people in terms of their humanity. She will stand up for families, education, small businesses and for those who are often overlooked. She’s proven it in our small group, in our community, and I have no doubt she will do the same in the Senate.

I urge everyone in District 6 to vote for Kim Hoey Stevenson. She is the leader who could make a real difference in our lives.
