Elks hold fall children’s party

November 15, 2024

The Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 parking lot was recently transformed into Count Dracula Drive for an inaugural trunk-or-treat event for children.

Fun and scary decorations adorned car trunks full of candy to be passed out. A group volunteers came out to assist in the fun, including four teens who read scary stories, applied glow-in-the-dark tattoos and handed out goodies to the young trick-or-treaters. Thanks to the leadership of Betty Ann Kortlang, Drug Awareness Program and Youth Activities chair, the community event was a grand success. Close to 40 children and their families attended.
