Upscale cottages cater to tourists ... again

December 3, 2024

I didn't realize it was April Fools Day already as l read the article about DNREC's nightmare of a plan to build upscale cabins on the primitive youth campsite. My brain exploded as I attempted to comprehend this story. So, the state tears down the old Delaware State Police Troop 7 building that was used as a Code Purple shelter and puts up tents for the homeless? How about the state transfer that DNREC allotment to build real shelters and services to our homeless souls? Catering, yet again, to the tourists? Where are your priorities? Where is your humanity? I do not want my tax dollars spent this way. Primitive and upscale Airbnbs do not belong in the same sentence.
