Veronica Linda Williams, respected surgical technologist

December 3, 2024

Veronica Linda (Street) Williams passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024. She was born Aug. 8, 1950, in Millsboro, to her late parents, Delema (Morris) Street and Richard Street Sr.

She graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1968 and continued her education in nursing at Wilmington General Hospital. She was a very well-respected surgical technologist for close to 40 years.

She joined Harmony Methodist Church at a very young age and was very proud that it was constructed with timber from great-grandfather Morris’ family farm, and she was a devoted proud member of the Nanticoke Indian Association

In 1977, she was joined in holy matrimony to her husband, Harrison Cardell Williams. They were married for 47 years.

She enjoyed cooking for her husband, family, and friends. She really enjoyed shopping, especially for bargains. Every so often, she and her Auntie Helen found themselves at a Dover casino until the wee hours of the night.

In earlier days, Linda and Cardell enjoyed vacationing, taking cruises, and visiting various exotic places. They also enjoyed spending summers in Millsboro at their summer home. She also loved hard- and soft-shell crabs that were abundantly available in Millsboro.

Linda is one of six children. She is survived by her sisters, Vondalyn (Vonnie) Street Starks and Vanessa Street; brother, Korwyn Street (Darlene Street); sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Street; and brother-in-law, Sam Williams. Linda is also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Street Jr.; and baby brother. Linda was blessed to have three beloved godchildren, Jordan Robbins Ryland, Barry Martin and Darran Martin. She is also survived by her aunts, Sylvia Morris and Zaidee Morris; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, numerous cousins, and friends.

Veronica will be deeply missed but her spirit will live in us forever. May she rest in eternal peace.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 6, at Harmony United Methodist Church, 27270 John J. Williams Hwy., Millsboro, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery. Rev. Janice Herman will officiate.
