Patricia J. Chapman, devoted to her family

December 8, 2024

Patricia J. Chapman, 76, of Harbeson, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024.

Born Aug. 12, 1948, in Leonia, N.J., she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Mary (McCreedy) Wiseman. She graduated from the University of Bridgeport and cherished memories in the Theta Epsilon Sorority.

Patti devoted her life to lovingly raising her family and building homes across Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware, where she resided for the past 12 years. Her radiant smile could light up any room, and her strong yet tender spirit touched everyone she met. A true testament to her resilience, Patti triumphed over cancer four times. She was an avid golfer and a loyal New York Yankees fan, never missing a game and always cheering passionately for her team.

Her love and commitment to her family were unparalleled; if there were an award for being the best wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter, Patti would have earned it many times over. She had an open heart. She welcomed everyone she met with open arms.

In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Bobby” Wiseman Jr.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 54 years, Dr. Thomas R. Chapman Jr.; her children, Thomas Chapman III (Olga), Brian Chapman (Jennifer) and Meghan Wojewodka (Mike); and her adored grandchildren, Teagan, Abigail, Luke, Sophie, Madeline, Elizabeth, Patrick and Katherine.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13, at Short Funeral Home, 416 Federal St., Milton.

Visitation will occur from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 14, at Harbeson Methodist Church, 18647 Harbeson Road, Harbeson, followed immediately by Celebration of Life at noon. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton. A luncheon to celebrate Patti’s life will be held afterward at The Clubhouse at Baywood.

Patti’s warmth, strength, and boundless love for her family and friends will be forever cherished and deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patti’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
