Gov.-elect Meyer welcomes transition team staff
Gov.-elect Matt Meyer has announced a communications team with media backgrounds as part of his transition staff.
Mila Myles, a Democratic strategist, was named transition communications director, following her recent work for campaigns in Indiana and California.
Myles served as Western Region communications coordinator for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees International from 2020-22, coordinating with labor groups and allies across the West Coast and nationally.
In 2023, she joined the U.S. Small Business Administration as a public affairs specialist, serving as a traveling press staffer for Biden cabinet member and SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman. Myles holds a BA from Wabash College and a dual MSc/MA in global media and communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in Los Angeles.
Serving as deputy communications director will be Abigail Tracy, who worked eight years as the national political reporter for Vanity Fair. She began her career as a business, entrepreneurship and technology reporter for Inc. and Forbes magazines after graduating from Northwestern University with a double major in journalism and economics.
Wilmington native Ronald Vann will serve as transition digital director. Vann has more than 20 years of multimedia production experience, recently working for the Harris-Walz campaign, where he was a senior video producer. He also worked as media director for the Historically Black College and University Week Foundation.
Growing up in Wilmington, Vann attended Delcastle Technical High School, studying web design and video production. He went on to study at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, focusing on digital filmmaking.
Meyer said in a statement that it’s important that Delawareans and working families know state government is fighting for them.
“Transparency to the public and the media has been a hallmark of my time as New Castle County executive, and it will continue to be as governor – and that starts with this transition process. I’m excited to welcome Ron, Abby and Mila to the team,” he said.
