Joanne Ruth Linduska Price, devoted teacher, volunteer
Joanne Ruth Linduska Price died Friday, Dec. 13, 2024. She was born in Missoula, Mont., May 17, 1937, daughter of the late Dr. Joseph P. Linduska and Lilian H. Linduska. Joanne graduated from Laurel High School in Laurel, Md., and attended and graduated from University of Maryland with a degree in elementary education. While at the University of Maryland, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Upon completing her education, she taught kindergarten for several years in Wilmington. After the birth of her two children, she taught kindergarten and second grade in the Cape Henlopen School District, Lewes. During her children’s youth, she volunteered and was active in scouting and Little League. Later in life, after her children were grown, she volunteered at Beebe Hospital in Lewes and New Life Thrift Shop in Lewes. Joanne enjoyed gardening, volunteering, and crafting. She attended St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes.
Joanne is survived by her two children and their spouses, Kent S. Price (Mary Elizabeth) of Tobaccoville, N.C., and Cheryl P. Nelson (Michael) of Lewes; her grandchildren, Clayton Nelson (Katelyn) and Chase Nelson (Taylor); and a great-granddaughter, Lainey. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Dr. James J. Linduska (Barbara, deceased) of Salisbury, Md.; and her cousins who live in Montana.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 23, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 200 Second St., Lewes.
