Stephen Iannotta Jr., dedicated husband, father
Stephen Iannotta Jr., 91, passed away quietly Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, with his family present. He resided in Rehoboth Beach.
Born in Plainfield, N.J., he was the son of Stephen Iannotta Sr. and Helen Bobula Iannotta.
He is survived by the love of his life, Marie of Rehoboth Beach, to whom he was married for 68 years. He is also survived by his sons, Glenn Iannotta (Joyce) of Powell, Ohio, Mark Iannotta (Sue) of Dublin, Ohio, and Chris Iannotta (Shannon) of Leland, N.C.; and his daughter, Lynn Richardson (Lenny) of Rehoboth Beach. ‘Popi’ is also loved and missed by his grandchildren, Stephen, Caylin, Lauren, Sean and Katie.
Steve graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in chemistry. He was a proud member of the Theta Xi fraternity and went on to do graduate studies at Rutgers University.
He met his loving wife, Marie, at the Monte Carlo pool in Asbury Park, N.J., in 1952. She took his breath away, and he never looked back. They wed in 1956 in New York City.
Steve was a loving, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, and treasured the time spent with his family. He took an active role in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was a baseball coach, a Boy Scout leader, and an avid fan of his family’s passions. He also enjoyed golf and played several legendary courses.
He began his career in a laboratory in Murray Hill, N.J., and quickly transitioned into sales, starting as a regional salesman. His career took him and his family to many locations throughout the Northeast and Midwest before ending his career as director of corporate services at Air Products in Trexlertown, Pa. He was also vice president of finance of the Association of Corporate Travel Executives.
Steve was a lifelong learner and encouraged curiosity. He often spent his spare time researching topics of interest or reading books.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford for their caring assistance.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 10, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes. Visitation will be at 10 a.m.
