Beacon Middle School presents GEM awards to John Parker and Richard Bosnic
Beacon Middle School presented its Going the Extra Mile awards to teacher John Parker and substitute teacher Richard Bosnic.
According to a release from the school, Parker, a sixth-grade special education and ELA small-group teacher, identifies each student’s unique strengths and needs and helps to customize learning plans to ensure student success.
“His quiet contributions to students and staff do not go unnoticed,” the release states. “He works tirelessly every day to help teachers and students, while taking on duties outside his normal routine. He also builds a bond with students that only few achieve.”
Bosnic, who serves as an assistant wrestling coach in addition to substituting, relates to and cares about students, said the release.
He has a calm demeanor in the classroom and is willing to assist in the school in any way he can, school officials said. He also helped the school’s wrestling team finish with a winning record.
“BMS is lucky to have a GEM substitute teacher and coach like Mr. Bosnic,” the release states.
