The Eagles have lost a number of stars on defense

March 14, 2025

In order for the Eagles to have a chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions they’re going to have to have another great draft on the defensive side of the ball. Almost half of their starting defense has moved on to different teams, including defensive end Josh Sweat, nose tackle Milton Williams, safety CJ Gardner Johnson and cornerbacks Darius Slay and Isaiah Rogers. The only significant player they have acquired since free agency officially started is back up running back A.J. Dillon from the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles’ second running back from last season, Kenneth Gainwell, went to the Pittsburgh Steelers. I hope the team re-signs guard Mekhi Becton soon and a defensive end before the free agent period ends. One of the best remaining defensive ends, Brandon Graham, is very close to retiring. There are some young D-linemen on the team who will also get their chance to shine. We will see.

It is Players Championship week in golf. This is the most famous non-major golf tournament in the world. They’ve been playing this tournament at the same course since 1982, at TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville, Fla. The last three holes are the second most famous holes of golf in America only behind 13,15 and 16 at Augusta National where they play the Masters tournament every April.

I also heard some unfortunate news that Tiger Woods will probably be out for the whole year because he ruptured his achilles tendon while trying to come back to play. I hope he hurt his leg while actually playing golf and not doing crazy leg exercises in the gym.

In the past week, the Phillies have started to play consistent offensive baseball. I hope this continues into the regular season, which starts in two weeks. So far, the MVP of spring for the Phillies has been third baseman Alec Bohm. He’s playing like he has something to prove to the Phillies management because it was rumored that they were going trade him in the offseason. He is in mid-season form. The starting pitchers are also pitching well. The bullpen still needs some work to get ready for the upcoming season of high-stress innings. Go Phillies!
