Antique Alley sets family-friendly anniversary event April 26

April 19, 2025

Antique Alley of Bridgeville invites the public to its 10th anniversary celebration, Share the Memories, starting at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 26, at 18208 Sussex Highway, Bridgeville.

“We owe so much gratitude to our local community and shoppers – not only from our region but across the country – that we wanted to showcase 10 years of success in the form of a big thank-you party,” said Jane Houtman, Antique Alley of Bridgeville owner.

“What some people may not realize is that our business is a cooperative of 70-plus small businesses along with myself who are working every day to offer great antique and vintage items,” Houtman said. “We’ve established ourselves as an antiques destination, and our circle of shoppers grows every year.” Antique Alley of Bridgeville is the largest antiques mall in Delaware, with 20,000 square feet.

The day will begin with local, county and state dignitaries cutting the ribbon, immediately followed by the sounds of local musician Brian Scar from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. From 1 to 4 p.m., local musician Tony Windsor will provide entertainment.

A petting zoo and a ride-along train will be on site for children of all ages. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a puppy adoption will be held. Door prizes will be drawn and announced throughout the day; no purchase necessary. Food and beverages including hotdogs, a special 10th anniversary cake and decorated cookies will be provided in the Alley Café.

Antique Alley of Bridgeville was launched in 2015 when Houtman took over an existing antiques store. Since then, she has cultivated a diverse group of 70 antiques dealers in 125 booths, expanded the store’s footprint to 20,000 square feet, increased business to seven days a week and brought in popular retail lines.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the anniversary party, with events taking place throughout the day. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
